
Ed Button, Jr.
Ed is a founding partner of LegacyAdvisors.io. Born and raised in northeastern Pennsylvania, Ed currently resides in Mountaintop with his wife Briana and their two children.
In 2011, Ed, along with partners Amanda and Robert, acquired Button Oil Company Inc. This marked the beginning of his extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Recognizing the potential for diversification, they strategically focused on expanding into other energy products and lines of business through M&A activities.
Ed played a pivotal role in managing the inorganic growth of Button Oil and Propane, successfully completing ten acquisitions. His expertise in identifying synergies, negotiating deals, and integrating acquired businesses into the existing portfolio has been instrumental in driving growth and creating value for stakeholders.
In 2024, Ed and his colleague Kris Jones partnered to form LegacyAdvisors.io, a purpose-driven M&A advisory service. Their goal is to provide comprehensive care for the legacies that these businesses have earned, ensuring that the transition process respects the values and achievements of the companies involved.

Kris is a serial entrepreneur and best-selling author. As founder and former CEO of digital marketing and affiliate network Pepperjam (sold to eBay (NASDAQ – EBAY in 2009), Kris led the company to three straight Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Companies in America nominations (peaking at #72 overall and #2 in the State of Pennsylvania).
In 2008 Kris wrote his first book, entitled “SEO Visual Blueprint,” which has sold over 100,000 copies worldwide. In 2022 Kris co-authored “Search-Engine Optimization All-in-One for Dummies (Wiley). Over the course of two decades Kris has established himself as an authority on a range of topics, including raising venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, and scaling businesses. In fact, Kris has contributed nearly 600 articles to top publications, including Forbes, Inc., Business Insider, and Fast Company.
In 2010 Kris founded investment firm KBJ Capital and has invested in dozens of early stage technology companies. Over an impressive career Kris has raised tens of millions of dollars in venture capital, and has participated in multiple successful exits.
Kris is a sought after speaker and keynote having spoke over 100 times around the world. In 2016 Kris was a commencement speaker at his undergraduate alma mater Penn State University. In 2019 Kris keynoted the American Academy of Pediatrics Annual Meeting in Florida in front of 10,000 pediatricians, while in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022 Kris spoke on the main stage at the Collision Conference (North America’s largest technology conference.
In 2019 Kris launched a 25,000 square foot growth stage technology Accelerator in Pennsylvania, which houses leading growth stage tech, energy, and consumer products companies.
Kris received a B.A. from Penn State University (1998), a M.S. in Experimental Psychology from Villanova University (2000), and a J.D. from Albany Law School (2003).
Kris lives in Shavertown and Penn Lake, PA with his wife Robyn and children, Kris Jr., Lauren, and Jackson.
